If You Have to Insult Candidates to Fill a Role, What Does That Say About the Role?

A real job post that tells you everything you need to know about the High-Ticket Casino.

Saw a job post yesterday advertising a closer position.

And HOOOOOOOO-WEEEEE was it JUICY.

For starters, let me share some of the "Who this role is NOT for" section with you:

"Diva sales reps who are not willing to grind."

"Baby birds who are afraid of outbound and want to be spoon-fed by mommy."

"Lazy, entitled, or egotistical sales reps that feel the world owes them something."

HA. Loooooony.

I could probably just end this post right here, but nah let's continue.

What these clowns are basically saying here is: "We want someone desperate enough to accept whatever we offer because we've already made them feel like they have to prove they're not a diva, a baby bird, or a lazy bum just by applying."

And just when you think this "job post" can't get ANY dumber...

Let's take a peek at the "Who this IS for" section, which is basically just the same type of insults reworded as compliments.

"Self-starters who know how to create momentum instead of waiting around for it."

"The kind of person who's willing to pour it all on and really lean into the process."

"Someone who is organized and knows how to work pipeline deals."

So… if we translate this into Casino language, you want someone who generates their own leads, makes your offer the most important thing in their life, is willing to try to revive dead leads, doesn't need support, and to top it all off has to "solidify their spot."

Companies, you do know that in order to get people to work with you, you have to SELL it, right?

And this my friends, IS selling alright. Selling people on NOT applying.

It's all what the rep better bring to the table and nothing about what's on the table when they get there.

This is the High-Ticket Casino at its finest. Shame reps into applying. Filter for the most desperate. Offer the least. Burn through them. Rinse and repeat.

If a company has to insult the people they're trying to attract just to fill a role, what does that tell you about what it's like once you're in?

Probably pretty great.
