If Someone's Asking for a 'Chad,' They Don't Understand What Good Selling Looks Like

Intel Brief

Real closers are consultants, not gladiators—they win through skill, not volume.

Operator Note

I had a business owner looking to hire a sales rep ask for a “Chad.” What is a “chad closer?” A dude who sells by being loud, aggressive, and obnoxious.

Chad closers think volume equals results. They mistake aggression for persuasion and confuse being pushy with being persistent.

Here’s the problem: Chad closers burn through prospects faster than they close deals. They leave a trail of annoyed potential customers who will never buy from your company.

Real closers don’t need to be loud or obnoxious. They listen more than they talk. They understand the prospect’s actual problems before pitching solutions.

They guide prospects to the right decision instead of bulldozing them into submission. They build trust, not resistance.

The “Chad closer” approach might work once in a while through sheer numbers. But it’s not sustainable, and it damages your brand in the process.

If someone’s asking for a “Chad,” they don’t understand what good selling actually looks like. They think sales is about being alpha instead of being helpful.

Good closers are consultants, not gladiators. They win through skill, not volume.
