Customer Service Is Still a Competitive Advantage
Intel Brief
A dealership sold me 3 cars in 10 years and lost my business forever over something extremely simple: communication.

Customer service is still a competitive advantage.
(Yes, even in 2025.)
I called the dealership I bought my car from to schedule service. They told me “you’ll get a text/call back.”
I got the text. Replied. Then got told “someone will reach out.”
Waited 5 days…
To be fair, maybe they did call; but I get spam-blasted 24/7 and my phone silences any number not in my contacts.
So I called a different dealership. Immediately transferred to service. Picked a time. Gave my info. Before I even finished explaining the issue… I had a text and email confirming the appointment.
I told the advisor “this is night and day different.”
That first dealership sold me 3 cars in 10 years. Despite that, they just lost my business forever…
And over something EXTREMELY simple: Communication.
Which is so simple, it’s just as easy NOT to do, as it is to do, which is why it’s so sneaky.
REMINDER: After the sale, the sale isn’t over. You either CONTINUE to earn that trust…or slowly train the customer to start googling your competitors.
How many businesses are hemorrhaging right now, not because the product sucks… but because the process does?
