The Generalist Closer Is Dying

Intel Brief

In a world where buyers can fact-check you in 6 seconds with AI, being a 'sales guy who talks good' is no longer a competitive advantage.

I believe the era of “I can sell anything to anyone” is going away.

Information is decentralized now. It’s nearly a full-on commodity.

Your prospect can fact-check your butt in 6 seconds flat with AI. So if your whole identity is “sales guy who talks good”…congrats, you’re competing with a robot that ALSO talks good.

And who also doesn’t need commission.

In the old days, you could survive on what I call “sales speak.”

Tonality gymnastics. Word tracks. Dodging questions. Answering a question with another question and looping like your life depends on it.

But when buyers can verify EVERYTHING you say, your little non-answer dance just translates to: “I don’t actually know.”

So what wins now?

Simple. Being an INSIDER.

Not “I memorized the script.” or “I watched a YouTube video.” or “I went through the offer’s course.”

I mean: you understand the market, the competitors, the tradeoffs, the lingo, the landmines, the real reasons buyers hesitate, and the stuff they should be asking but don’t know how. And you understand them DEEPLY (or are well on your way).

THAT’S what gets buyers hooked…no mind games necessary.

And yes… I know. Here at the High-Ticket Casino, staying in one lane is hard when offers flop every 90 days.

But the principle doesn’t change:

The “generalist closer” is becoming the guy at the table with no chips.

The “NICHE NINJA” is the one who gets to keep his seat warm.

Because when everyone has the SAME access to information… the separator is who actually understands it, NOT who can repeat it.

If you’re figuring it out the same way the prospect is… why would they pay you to “help them achieve desired result”?

In the very near future, to be great at selling, you won’t be able to rely on the prospect not knowing more than you anymore.

Know your stuff. Tell the truth. Let buyers buy how they want.

And get SO fluent in a niche that your prospect can’t HELP but think: “Dang. This dude sees the whole board.”

You need to be able to offer your prospects TAILORED perspective, which you cannot do if all you do is run mental word tracks.

NO conversation, if it’s truly a conversation, should look the same between each buyer you speak with.

And when you have a sexy level of domain control, that’s not hard to do, because you understand the landscape and can offer that NUANCED advice to that buyer, who is trusting you to do just that.

Put their mind at ease, that even though they can’t see the whole board, you do, and will watch their six should they wish you to do so.

(P.S. Remember, unless trained otherwise, AI is biased towards telling the user what they want to hear, so even if they’re wrong the AI is going to lean towards validating them, not you. Don’t bet against the AI.)

Build domain control > upgrade acting skills.
