A Perfect Example of Why You NEVER Cancel Interviews

Intel Brief

Finish what you start. Get the offer in hand. Don't accept anything until you're actually holding it.

A perfect example of why you NEVER cancel interviews.

Got this text last night.

Rep signed with one company over the weekend BUT still didn't bow out from the other one he was talking to.

He finished that interview as well.

And WOULDN'T YA KNOW.

He's got a second written offer with another company that officially said "we want to work with you".

If he had just taken the first offer that came his way and canceld the rest, he never would've known the other company wanted him.

And once you quit an interview process halfway through,

you don't get to walk back in later. That door's closed.

That business owner isn't going to waste time with you again.

So finish what you start.

Get the offer IN HAND.

Don't accept anything until you're actually holding it.

And if a company tells you they need an answer by Friday but you've still got another interview to wrap up on Saturday?

Just ask. "Hey, can you help me respect the other person's time by finishing out the process I already committed to?"

That's it. That's the move. Ask for their help.

Most people would love to help out.

Plus, you are showing that you stick to your commitments.

Which is an attractive trait that any founder/manager would love to have on his team.

If they say no? If they won't give you a few days to honor a commitment you already made?

Congrats.

You just found out exactly who they are before you signed.

That's not a company you wanna work for anyway.

Works in your favor either way.

The Casino is relentless.

You never know if the offer you just took is going to pan out, or for how long.

It's SO much easier to revisit a conversation with a company you know wants to work with you.

Take the damn interview!
