Context: She's asking if I would tell a rep who landed an offer through me to continue with interviews elsewhere.
Yes.
Also, anyone who's been in my pipeline knows I put reps in front of as many companies as I can for interviews.
I have no exclusivity with any businesses I recruit for
and take no payment unless someone gets hired.
Businesses are better off hiring people that had options.
95% of the time, given enough options,
BOTH sides who were looking for eachother,
inevitable find one another.
And right now, there are PLENTY of options.
So I'm not going to tell a rep to stop looking at other companies just because one company made them an offer.
That's not my job.
My job is to get them in front of as many quality opportunities as possible and let THEM decide.
Now, will I tell them "hey, this company is really interested and I think it's a strong fit"? Absolutely.
But I'm not pulling them out of other interviews.
That's not fair to the rep.
And frankly, it's not fair to the company either.
A company who hires someone that had ZERO other options is rolling the dice on whether that person actually wants to be there or just had nowhere else to go.
A company who hires someone that had 3 other offers and STILL chose them?
That's certainty.
That's someone who's there because they genuinely want to be.
Not because they're settling for just what's "available".
A business who competes with other businesses for the reps they want is doing themselves a favor.
Why?
Because if the rep chooses them, that means they actually CHOSE.
Which allows for far more certiantly that this guys is here for more of the right reasons.
Companies would do well to encourage and open the dialgoue around reps interviewing elsewhere instead of treating it like the rep is treating them like second fiddle.
No. The rep is doing the same thing the company is doing.
They're trying to compare/contrast b/t multiple companies to ensure they get the best possible combination of variables.
