There's No Such Thing as Paying Your Sales Team 'Too Much'
Intel Brief
If a rep brings you $10 for every $1 you pay them and your first reaction is 'that feels like too much commission,' what you're really saying is you'd prefer a smaller pie.

I don’t believe there’s such a thing as paying your sales team “too much.”
However, if you DO happen to have that thought, here’s a little, non-shirt losing reframe for you to consider.
What you actually have here is either a math problem or a trust problem.
Sales ought to be one of the HIGHEST paid positions in the company.
Your sales team shouldn’t be treated like an “expense line,”
It’s the circulatory system of your entire business.
Without a pipeline and someone to properly manage it, You have no profit.
And if you have no profit, you have no payroll.
If a rep brings you $10+ for every $1 you pay them…and your first reaction is, “Bro, this feels like way too much commission,” what you’re basically saying is, “I’d prefer a smaller pie so I don’t have to share as big of a slice.”
Make it make sense.
Here at the Casino, the most attractive founders I see are excited when reps out-earn them.
Yes, I said OUT-EARN.
If that happens it means the machine is working….HARD.
As a recruiter, often the easiest offers to fill and KEEP filled are the ones where owners are tickled PINK to give their team big commission checks…
And they know starving the lifeblood of the company is how you kill it.
