14 Interviews. 14 Offers. Here's What He Did Different.
Intel Brief
A young gun with only a year in the space did something most closers never do — he tracked everything, left every offer on good terms, and knew his numbers to the penny.

I’ve started offering a-la-carte 1:1 “pick my brain” calls for anyone trying to survive the High-Ticket Casino without getting smoked.
And yesterday I met with an ACTUAL “killer”, a young gun, only ~1 year in the space.
For starters… he did something I’ve literally never seen:
14 interviews. 14 offers.
Not “likes.” Not “good vibes.”
Actual: “We want you on the team.”
That does not happen by accident.
He’s doing the stuff most people skip because it’s “boring”:
tracking everything (companies, follow-up dates, decision makers, next steps)
leaving every offer on good terms (multiple references pre-loaded)
keeping receipts (proof, not vibes)
asking the uncomfortable questions (fulfillment, leadership, churn, refunds)
And he knows his revenue + cash collected down to the penny.
Tell me you’re dialed in… without telling me you’re dialed in.
His only real bottleneck wasn’t getting offers. It was finding one that matched his values.
So we talked through the real fix:
Stop treating every “box” like it’s equal.
When you have 6–8 requirements that are all pass/fail, you end up in an “I can’t find anything” loop.
Most people say “priorities”… but live like everything is the same priority.
So I had him rank it:
1) Non-negotiable = automatic reject if it’s missing.
2) Must-haves = needs 2/3 (or 3/3 if you wanna be strict).
3) Nice-to-haves = bonus points only. Not a dealbreaker.
And then ask one more question:
What’s missing that you could influence from the inside… vs. what’s missing that you’ll never change no matter how hard you try?
You can hold yourself to a high standard even if the rest of the table isn’t there yet.
Sometimes you’re not “the bottom of the 5 closest people”… you’re the one raising the average.
There’s no perfect offer.
So you gotta decide what you will accept and what you won’t.
All-or-nothing is expensive in a market like this.
That’s how you stay employed and keep your conscience clean.
Question: what’s your #1 non-negotiable when you take an offer?
