Read Your Agreements

Since 1765, US contract law has required something called "mutual assent"—both parties must UNDERSTAND and agree to the terms for a contract to even be valid.

If someone signs without understanding what they're agreeing to, the contract CAN be voided.

So,

A) pay attention to what you sign,

and

B) although you can't MAKE your customers understand, you CAN ensure you give them every opportunity within your power to do so.

Understanding is the thing that makes the contract enforceable in the first place.

Don't leave that up to chance.
