If a Recruiter Is Charging Both Sides, Neither Side Is the Client
Intel Brief
When the agency double-dips, nobody's interests are actually being represented.

Founders and reps using placement agencies. If a "recruiter " is charging the business owner AND the rep, neither one is the client. You're BOTH the product. The rep pays to get in the pipeline. The biz owner pays to get the rep out of it.Same person in the middle, two checks, one agency. And the second money flows in from both sides, the recruiter stops working for either of you. They work for the deal. They HAVE to force a fit, even a bad one, because they owe both sides a result.Sure, they might get some wood on the ball here and there but the ends do not justfiy the means. It's a conflict of interest no matter how you slice it.So before you pay any type of middle man, ask one question:Is the other side of this deal also paying you?If yes, throw up them duces.I charge the business owner. One time. And only AFTER they find a rep that they like and that likes them.Reps never pay me a dime, because the moment they do,I stop being free to tell either side the truth.Stay Humble, Hustle Hard.
