No, Reps Are NOT 'Offer-Hoppers'

Intel Brief

A client wanted closers with 1-2 years on an offer, citing two guys who stayed 5 years at their last companies — but those companies weren't even in the same universe.

No, rep’s are NOT “offer-hoppers.”

Had a conversation with a client this week that I want to talk about, because this is a REALLY common misconception in the high-ticket casino.

This business owner told me he wanted closers who had been on offers for “one to two years.”

Cool, no inherent issues at face value and I understand why he’s asking. He’s also not the first person to tell me “I don’t want offer-hoppers.”

And by the way, not ragging on this guy. He’s cool.

His rationale for this ask came from two of his current guys were at their last companies for five years each and who have been with him over a year.

Definitely interesting, so I asked him which companies they were at before him and then went and did some due diligence.

And what I found was even MORE interesting.

Company #1 was a VC-funded corporation north of $60 million with a couple hundred employees. Their “closers” are full W-2 employees with a base salary, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), stock options, unlimited PTO.
