"Unlimited Replacements" Is Not Generosity. It's a Business Model.

If you're thinking about hiring a recruiter, or you just want a lesson in sneaky marketing, check it.
Saw an ad pitching "unlimited replacements, no retainers, no upfront pay, and you only pay when your rep makes money."
Sounds legit, no?
No risk to the company. They only pay on performance. What's wrong with that?
Nothing, at face value.
He IS telling the truth. He's just not telling all of it.
Because what "you only pay when your rep makes money" actually means is the agency takes a cut of EVERY deal that rep closes, for as long as that rep is selling for you.
In other words, you're paying him for the LIFE of the rep.
That's a little different than a traditional "placement fee."
"Unlimited replacements" is not him being generous. He knows exactly what he's doing.
Who benefits when your rep quits? He does.
Turnover doesn't hurt him. It hurts you.
And the looniest part is the agency's got nothing to do with whether that rep actually wins. They're not on your calls. They're not coaching anybody. They're not touching your offer or your leads.
They found a person ONE time, and now he's eating your margin every single month for as long as that person stays.
"No upfront" is not the same as "no cost."
If you wanna buy recruiting that way, cool. Genuinely. Some owners would rather bleed a little over time than write a check today. Totally your choice to make.
But like I always say, make decisions FULLY educated. Not the half truth you get handed by so many gooroos.
Run the math on a rep who sticks around two years.
Then tell me if "no retainer" still sounds like a deal.
