If the System Worked and the Deal Closed, Why Doesn't It Count?

I always laugh when I see someone say:

“Yeah, that closer only did well because the leads were warm and the marketing was good.”

Like, holddddd the bus, bucko!

Isn’t that… the goal?

Why do we try to take credit AWAY from a rep just because they had a system around them that worked?

Like, isn’t that the whole point?

A great system SHOULD make sales [feel] easier.

A great marketing engine SHOULD set the table so the rep can win.

And if the deal gets closed… why does that suddenly not “count”?

Even if a rep isn’t the smoothest talker or the flashiest personality, the fact that they can operate prodcutively inside a well-oiled machine and still close deals is proof the system is working.

That doesn’t make the closer unworthy. It makes the process bulletproof.

So maybe the question isn’t: “Did the closer earn it?”

But rather:

“Why are we so quick to discount success when the system actually does what it’s supposed to do?”

Make it make sense, please.

And while we’re at it... let’s stop gaslighting sales reps for doing their job.

And also, stop complaining when everyone’s winning.

Stay Humble, Hustle Hard.
