The 'Talk to My Wife' Objection Is Not a Manhood Test
Intel Brief
Sales scripts that shame a prospect for consulting his wife aren't objection handling—they're manipulation.

Ever heard this one on a sales call?
(just brain-dumped while watching a "sales training" video while at the same time trying not to hurl my lunch).
Prospect: “I’d like to talk to my wife before I decide.”
Sales rep (right after a fake laugh):
“Of course, man, I don’t want you sleeping on the couch tonight.”
Sounds lighthearted.
But what follows is anything but.
This is where the maze continues:
1) “Partner aside, would you do it?”
2) “Why would you do it, though?”
3) “So whose responsibility is it to put your family in a better position—yours or hers?”
4) “Does she believe in you as much as you believe in yourself?”
5) “If your future self were here, would he step up or pass the buck?”
Each of these isn’t a real question at all—they’re leading traps.
One chips away at your confidence, another forces you to parrot back their script, another attacks your manhood, another wedges you against your wife, and all of them funnel you down a one-way path to only one “acceptable” answer:buy now or you’re less of a man.
And what gets sacrificed?
The very thing a real man is called to protect—his covenant with his wife.
Because Scripture is clear:
“The two shall become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24).
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church” (Eph. 5:25).
A husband isn’t weaker for consulting his wife.
He’s stronger.
He honors her by including her.
So when a sales script tries to wedge you against your spouse, remember:
That’s not appealing to your manhood.
That’s insulting it.
